Analogous color combinations are every two to five colors that sit beside each other on the color wheel.Examples : red and green, yellow and purple, orange and blue. Complementary color combinations are the colors that sit on opposite sides of the color wheel.Warm colors typically convey sentiments of energy, brightness, or life whereas cool colors convey sentiments of calmness, grounding, or serenity. When you do so, you’ll notice that there is a distinction between warm colors (reds, oranges, and yellows) and cool colors (blues, greens, and violets). To get started, draw a line through the center of the wheel. And it's that meaning that accounts for iconic and successful branding - like red and white for Coca-Cola. Our relationship with colors psychologically and collectively throughout society is what gives meaning to color. Tertiary colors: red-orange, yellow-orange, yellow-green, blue-green, blue-violet, red-violet (created by mixing both primary and secondary colors).Secondary colors: orange, green, violet (created by mixing primary colors).Newton intimately understood how color was defined by human perception and how it came together to create eye-catching combinations, resulting in him creating the primary, secondary, and tertiary color categorizations: Part of these rules and guidelines make up the color wheel - designed by Sir Isaac Newton in 1666. For artists and designers, color theory is a collection of rules and guidelines which designers use to communicate with users through appealing color schemes.” Color wheel Research has shown that color has a psychological impact on human behavior and thought. Activepresenter 60 frame rate3/7/2023 ![]() ![]() The human visual system can process 10 to 12 images per second and perceive them individually, while higher rates are perceived as motion. The temporal sensitivity and resolution of human vision varies depending on the type and characteristics of visual stimulus, and it differs between individuals. Frame rate may also be called the frame frequency, and be expressed in hertz. The term applies equally to film and video cameras, computer graphics, and motion capture systems. What is Frame Rate?įrame rate (expressed in frames per second or fps) is the frequency (rate) at which consecutive images called frames appear on a display. Computer game enthusiasts may use the FPS ratings of a game to demonstrate computer power and efficiency. In today’s action-oriented games, the frame rate may range from 30 FPS (for example, in “Halo 3″) to over 100 FPS (as in”Unreal Tournament 3”). Some of the first 3D video games used a frame rate of only 6 FPS. Slower FPS rates produce smaller computer files. Different formats of video files have different FPS rates. Full-motion video is usually 30 FPS or greater. The greater the FPS, the smoother the video motion appears. High-end high definition TV (HDTV) uses 50p and 60p progressive formats. Cabaret emcee3/6/2023 ![]() ![]() But for me, it’s the way it drove an increase in people getting tested for HIV. It’s one thing how people really responded to it emotionally. Having ruddy cottage pie with Elton John and David Furnish. One of them was answering the phone and a voice saying: “Hi Callum, this is Elton.” I was like: “Oh my gosh, what the fuck?” We went over to his house for dinner last Christmas. There are certain moments in my life I’ll never forget. It’s lovely the way it’s entered mainstream culture. Last weekend, I saw a whole gang wearing “La!” T-shirts. The medium of television goes straight into people’s living rooms and it’s magical. One of them even called me Colin! While we were making It’s a Sin, we felt like a family and the show belonged to us. The first time that lockdown lifted, I remember walking through Soho and three separate people came up in quick succession to talk about it. ![]() When the show came out, the world was shut down. How did it feel making millions of people cry? There was no room for airs and graces - I just had to go there. Particularly the seizures, dementia and when he loses his dignity in front of his mother – I wanted to make sure that was told truthfully and felt visceral. I was very aware that it was based on real stories, on people that Russell knew, so it needed to be portrayed accurately. Howells with Neil Patrick Harris in It’s a Sin. It was brilliant to nibble on his ear about it. He also played Emcee on Broadway, so when Neil was over here filming Doctor Who recently, we had dinner and discussed the role. He couldn’t get over the way I said “beautiful” and made me say it about eight times. I don’t think he’d ever heard a South Wales valleys accent before. Not just in terms of acting but how to conduct myself and manage my time. Was your relationship similar off-screen?ĭefinitely. Neil Patrick Harris ’s character, the tailor Henry, was Colin’s mentor in the show. There’s no pretending, that’s just me being fucking petrified.” When I watch it back, I’m like: “Crikey, that’s real. I was red in the face from raw nerves and didn’t have to do any acting. I have a vivid memory of my first day being the scene where Colin’s in the Two Brewers, sitting in the corner, shaken up by seeing all these men kissing. How nervous were you, walking on to the set for the first time? Neil Patrick Harris couldn’t get over the way I said 'beautiful' and made me say it about eight times I worried I wasn’t ready but thought: “I’ve got to do this.” I gave it some welly and got the part. Not just that he’s Welsh but that he’s queer and on this journey. I was at the end of my second year when my agent said: “Russell T Davies is looking for a young Welsh character in his new series.” When I read Colin, I really connected with him. You were still at drama school when you read the It’s a Sin scripts. ![]() It’s usually just pop culture and reality TV! Me and Omari don’t normally talk about such deep things, trust me. Between the wars was a fascinating period for Germany, with the transition from the Weimar republic to Hitler’s rise to power. We’ve spoken a lot – not so much about our roles, more about the historical backdrop. Your It’s a Sin colleague Omari Douglas was in the Cabaret cast last year, playing Cliff Bradshaw. That’s the thing with this play, it provokes all sorts of mad ideas. Earlier on, we were discussing the Emcee’s parallels with Dominic Cummings, which is the most ridiculous reference point. To make them have a good time but also subvert their expectations. In some ways, the role is there to shock and meddle with the audience. I have a lot of adrenaline at the moment. I’m excited about flipping that on its head. It’s a very different role from Colin in It’s a Sin, isn’t it? ![]()

Chivalry medieval warfare forum3/6/2023 ![]() ![]() Now for wrath, now for ruin and a red nightfall!įorum Index > Off-topic Talk > Is the vanguard from chivalry medieval warfare accurate? To hope's end I rode and to heart's breaking: I came singing in the sun, sword unsheathing. Out of doubt, out of dark to the day's rising I don't know any specific recorded instances, but it's quite probable that soldiers in Anglo-Irish borderlands would have worn mixed gear. In the late sixteenth century, you had English pike-&-shot armies facing Irish heavy infantry in high helms and hauberks wielding long-handled axes. Additionally, older styles persisted longer in certain region than in others, with Ireland being a striking example. Some English nobles in the sixteenth century allegedly mustered with armor that made amused Spanish soldiers think they'd stepped out of a medieval manuscript. There's considerable evidence equipment was at times used decades or centuries after its manufacture, so kits we might call temporally mismatched historically appeared on the battlefield. Posted: Fri 05 Apr, 2013 11:18 am Post subject: Sir Walter Raleigh, upon being allowed to see the ax that would behead him, 29 October 1618 "This is a sharp medicine, but it is a physician for all diseases and miseries." The melee combat system is a concept that should be experimented with more, but I guess when you're a historical stickler your enjoyment of video games can be a casualty.īy the way Dan, I thought that Ailettes were mainly used between 12. When you have a game that imitates realism then the inaccuracies are harder for me to accept. It is one thing to be anachronistic or fantastic, but it is another to just violate common sense. ![]() At the same time really silly things, like knights using two-handed weapons in one hand and carrying the heaviest shields, even though they have the heaviest armor, just irk me. That I do commend because it is executed well. ![]() Most games do not really go into the timing aspect of fencing, with parries having to be executed at the right moment and attacks requiring commitment and stamina to execute, and feints being an option. My opinions concerning "Chivalry: Medieval Warfare" are that the hand-to-hand combat system is better than most video games that have a melee attack in first person. Acdsee photo studio mac workflow3/6/2023 ![]() But you can also buy an additional 50GB for $25 or 100 GB for $50. ![]() Initially, when you sign up for the ‘Home Plan’, you get 50GB of the SeeDrive cloud space and 5 user activations. With the ACDSee subscription plan, users also get free SeeDrive cloud space from the company to store their files. This product is similar to Photo Studio Professional but barring a few key features like Face Recognition or Smart Erase Tool. The company has a dedicated product for Mac computers called Photo Studio for Mac 5. ![]() However, that doesn’t mean Mac users can’t use the photo editing software of the company. Though ACDSee products do usually come with cross-platform support, the Photo Studio Professional works only on Windows computers. Or you can send your photos to email, too.Īnd all these activities happen in ACDSee Photo Studio Professional’s 365 mode. Plus, you can share your images directly to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and SmugMug. But it saves you from the headache of manually exporting images one-by-one. Sure, it might take some time, depending on the quality and quantity of your images. So once you’re done with the editing work, you can export all the images together to your computer. ACDSee comes with batch import and export functions. But in many sections, the image editing tool is just okay. So, in short, ACDSee is a feature-rich program that does a great job in a few aspects. It lets you adjust the lighting of specific areas without affecting the rest of the image.įor example, if a particular area is dark, you can make it look brighter and vise versa. This smart feature takes color correction to the next level. So, full marks go to ACDSee in the photo organizing section.Īnd at last, the feature that is worth mentioning is the ACDSee Light EQ – a patented technology of the company. Once I named a few faces, it automatically recognized and tagged all the other photos with those faces.Īdditionally, you are also allowed to add color labels, Geotagging, and keywords to organize your photo library. That said, I really liked the face detection or face recognition feature, which was on point. Similarly, the program is okay-ish in reducing noise and correcting optical flaws as it does a decent job overall but misses out small details. But the quality is nothing like what you get on Lightroom CC or DxO Photolab. Now, when it comes to processing RAW files, which is one of its primary functions, the tool does a decent job. On top of that, the company has introduced a new ‘Smart Erase Tool’ that helps you remove specific objects from your photos. ![]() Or you can use their new ‘Develop Brush’ tool to adjust colors, vibrance, and white balance. Similarly, ACDSee offers various Lookup Tables (LUTs) to quickly apply and see different color looks. ![]() And using this tool, you can hide unnecessary objects, uneven color tone, and blemishes from your photos. It does so by copying the pixels from a source area to the target area. What impressed me the most about ACDSee is its color correction system that enables you to maintain the right color contrast in a picture. However, I found the software to be hot and cold as I moved to more advanced functions. The software is capable of doing all the primary level things like cropping, trimming, or applying filters. The biggest strength of ACDSee is its editing and organizing features. So, without wasting any time, let’s dive in. Having said that, there are many areas where this tool produces a lackluster performance or trails its competitors like Lightroom or DxO Photolab.Īnd in the following section, I go through these points in detail. That’s why the software is filled with essential functions and offers a full-fledged image editing solution. The best thing about this tool is that, from every now and then, ACDSee adds new features or improve the existing ones. Like Adobe Lightroom CC, ACDSee Photo Studio Professional is also a RAW file editor and organizing system with a photo editing workflow. And their photo editing software has been there since the early days of the industry. ACDSee, just like Adobe, is quite a veteran in the photo editing game. ![]()
