Kirby super star ultra sprites ice3/7/2023 I don't see how Ultra is so much better for a lot of people. What is your opinion on Kirby Super Star and it's remake?īut why? I don't understand why people say so. It's still Super Star - and it's still a masterpiece. The Marx Soul and Galacta Knight fights and the entierty of Revenge of the King are essentially what gives KSSU an advantage over KSS - but i really think that overall, KSS is better. They just rehash the game in a fine way - they're fun, but not necessary. They're just extra modes - play as helper, play arena, but harder, play as Meta Knight. but none of them (aside from Revenge of the King) are really important. KSSU also has a few new subgames, they're fine. Not to say KSSU doesn't have some things done better visually then the original - some of the backgrounds are much more lively, like the background of Planet Mecheye in MWW. Plus, in my opinion, the game looks worse then the original - some of the sprites are just upscaled versions of GBA sprites and some levels don't look unique anymore - remember that mechanical section in Great Cave Offensive's Old Tower? In KSSU, it looks the same as the other parts of the castle. But the problem is their quality - i know that the DS probably couldn't handle better, but again - why not just do it in spritework OR make the game for the Wii? It would have been a lot better that way. The cutscenes are also worse - sure, the 3D cutscenes themselves are awesome, have better music to fit some of them and are really good at replicating the game's style. Ultra requires you to have TWO DS'es, TWO game cartridges and you HAVE to look on only one screen! I would have much liked it to do Wi-Fi multiplayer - imagine that! And if the DS couldn't handle that, what if KSSU was released for the Wii? That would have probably solved both the problem with how many consoles are required AND allowed Wi-Fi multiplayer! That would have been awesome, but sadly, it isn't. The original required you to have a SNES (two controllers were already bundled) and the game. Sure, both Ultra and Original have things better done at core (Ultra added the select button to drop ability, but made some bosses much more boring to fight), but from my experience, they are on the same level at the core. But in my opinion, the original is better - let me explain.Īt core, they're technically the same game. Each mode is reallly fun, the music is awesome and fits perfectly, the ability movesets are great, the abilities themselves are fun to use, helpers make for even more fun and it's hella fun to play in multiplayer. In my opinion, both of those games are masterpieces.
